The goal is to reduce the mobs to a single point of health, allowing them to be dispatched with a single punch. Spiders are the weakest at just 18 points, requiring a fall of 20 blocks to be left at death's door. Skeletons, zombies, and creepers all have 20 points of health, and need a fall of 22 blocks.
Mobs can spawn at Y = 256, but block light does not propagate above Y = 255. I think both (a) mobs spawning above the build limit, and (b) block light not propagating to the top of blocks at the build limit, are bugs.
With the Caves and Cliffs: Part 2 update, world height will change to add more area above and below existing Minecraft worlds. Prior to the update, world height had a range of y values from 0 to 256 . With the update, world height now has a range of y values from -64 to 320 .
Hostile mobs, however, will despawn or be removed from the game if they are outside a 128 block radius from any player, so the practical spawning limits of mobs will be calculated within a 128-block radius of players.
The Player cannot sleep in a bed if a hostile mob is anywhere within 16 blocks of the bed. Sometimes you will wake up outside if your bed is right beside a wall.
Mobs spawn naturally within chunks that have a player horizontally within 128 blocks of the chunk center. When there are multiple players, mobs can spawn within the given distance of any of them.
Players can use lava to kill mobs easily. When in contact with lava, most mobs take two heart damage every half a second. Many mob farms rely on lava to kill mobs, such as iron farms, creeper farms and so on.
What is the block height?
What Is Block Height? The block height of a particular block is defined as the number of blocks preceding it in the blockchain. A blockchain is an encrypted database that records a ledger of transactions sequentially in data structures known as blocks.
People usually survive falls from a height of 20-25 feet (6-8 meters), but above that, things get very deadly very fast. A study done in Paris in 2005 looked at 287 victims of falls, and found that falls from 8 stories (30 meters) or higher were 100% fatal.

A creeper has to fall 24 blocks to die. A player takes half a heart of damage when falling for 4 blocks, a heart for 5, and so on.
Spawners can be picked up with silk touch, but they can only be reactivated on top off a full tier beacon piramid.
Can mobs spawn in a 1x1 area? yes they can spawn on a single block, however the game mechanics make it so that any 10x10 area of "biome specific" blocks (e.g., corrupted stone, savannah grass etc.) will be regarded as a viable biome, thus why we are able to create mob spawners.
In Minecraft, altitude is often expressed as the bottom face of a block layer, where the lowest block that can be placed is at layer -64 and has a Y-coordinate of −64. For instance, sea level is at layer 62, while clouds appear at layer 191).
Mobs cannot spawn on blocks that are less than a full block in height. Areas covered in bottom slabs are unable to spawn mobs, no matter the light level, although double slabs, top slabs and upside-down stairs are still spawnable.
The world border is located at X/Z ±29,999,984. Chunks still generate past this point, but the player cannot go past ±30 million blocks out.
In Minecraft 1.19, the maximum height to which players can fly is Y level 2,147,483,647; however, the game will start lagging and might crash at these heights.

Mob Spawning
Friendly mobs can spawn at any time of day or night, but most hostile mobs spawn only at night or in places with low light. Some mobs have special spawning rules; when you kill a zombie, more will spawn immediately in the area, for example. Light an area to stop mobs from spawning.
Animals are attracted to light and grass. If there is a lot of grass nearby, they will walk toward it. If they are completely surrounded by grass, they will wander aimlessly. If they can't see any grass, they will wander toward light.
The Warden can be found in Deep Dark Caves, which are easy to spot due to the abundance of the new block, Sculk.

Hostile. Hostile mobs will attack a player when they get within a certain range. For most hostile mobs, the range is typically 16 blocks, without any obstructions. Some mobs can sense a player from much farther away, such as ghasts, who detect all players within 100 blocks.
Mob spawning in Minecraft is limited to a 128 blocks distance from a player. Experienced Minecraft players create large, efficient farms in a sphere of 128 blocks radius. Gold farms are built above the nether ceiling to improve spawn rates of zombie piglin.
Using the fall damage formula, we can see that the maximum height a Skeleton can fall from without dying is 22. An Enderman, on the other hand, has 20 hearts (40 health). That means an Enderman can survive a 42 block fall! Save this answer.
Creepers run from Cats and Ocelots and will even ignore the player to run away when a feline is too close. As of 1.2. 4, Creepers seem to be spawning freely in forest biomes, regardless of light level, albeit rarely.

Block height
Most solid blocks are 1 meter high (3.28084... feet or 1250⁄381 feet), but several blocks have non-standard block heights, such as slabs. A player can automatically step up from a lower to a higher height if the difference is at most 0.6 (3⁄5) of a block or 1.9685... feet (250⁄127 feet).
Away from her career and reno experience, Kirsty also takes the win for being the shortest contestant on The Block, standing at just 144cm tall.
A more recent study on 287 vertical fall victims revealed that falls from height of 8 stories (i.e. around 90-100 feet) and higher, are associated with a 100% mortality [4]. Thus, a vertical falling height of more than 100 feet is generally considered to constitute a "non-survivable" injury.
The fatality statistics vary from year to year, but the fatality rate significantly increases above the 10-foot threshold. The Center for Construction Research (2018) states that: 11.7% of fall-related fatalities resulted from falls from heights between 6 and 10 feet. 19.7% from falls 11 to 15 feet.
It doesn't take much of a fall to cause damage. "From a height of 3 meters (roughly 10 feet) you could fracture your spine," Hughes said. "At around 10 meters (about 30 feet), you're looking at very serious injuries."
For whatever reason, creepers are deathly afraid of cats and ocelots. They'll immediately start running away from these furry creatures the moment they get within range.
Other hostile mobs, such as Creepers, will be unaffected by daylight and are just as dangerous as they are in the dark.
Silk Touch II will allow you pick up monster spawners, the dragon egg, and silverfish stone without spawning a silverfish. The silverfish stone will drop as itself and not the variant of stone it's disguised as. You can only get it by combining 2 books/tools with Silk Touch I.

Non-spawnable blocks
In Minecraft, there are many blocks on top of which mobs cannot spawn, like slabs, carpets, glasses, leaves and redstone components. Players can use cheap items like slabs, buttons and carpets to spawn-proof areas around their farms.
Any mob can climb a ladder in the same way a player does: by pushing against it. Mobs are not smart enough to use ladders deliberately — they do not remain on a ladder to get somewhere, but a ladder directly in their path lets them climb up.
All zombie variants (including babies) require a 2-block tall space to spawn.

However, hostile mobs (and some others) that move farther than 128 blocks from the nearest player despawn instantly, so the mob spawning area for such mobs is more-or-less limited to spheres with a radius of 128 blocks, centered at each player.
Two high mobs can spawn in two high rooms, given that the light level is low enough. Of course, endermen being 3 high cannot spawn in, although creepers, zombies, skeletons, and the rest will spawn in two-high rooms.
Building the farm two blocks high is enough space for almost every hostile mob to spawn, except for Endermen, who are slightly taller. However, placing trap doors on the ceiling block lowers the height to just below two entire blocks. This removes the ability for anything other than creepers to spawn.
HOW LOW CAN mobs spawn?
Hostile mobs spawn at night, and can only spawn on blocks with a light level of 7 or lower. An area can, therefore, be kept free of monster-spawning by illuminating it to a light level of 8 or higher.
